Hardy Tradescantia are useful border plants with unusual 3-petalled flowers produced over a long period, nestled amongst long, sword-shaped evergreen leaves. Unusual amongst spiderworts, Tradescantia rubra boasts striking large magenta blooms with contrasting yellow stamens.
